What to Expect From a Realtor

An Explanation of the Process

I will not take it for granted that you know all the in's and out's of the buying/selling process. Instead, I will provide you with a full explanation of what to expect.  Our first meeting will include a review of my "everything you need to know Buyer's package" so that you are fully aware of everything involved in the buying process before you begin your search.  The Buyer's package is yours to keep for you to reference throughout you journey.

An Assessment of Your Needs

One of the first questions I will ask is, Why are you moving?? I will also explore any time constraints you might have (perhaps imposed by the need to relocate for employment), your financial situation and any future plans and come up with a plan that caters to your needs.

A Plan to Find Your Dream Home

I will will help you identify what you want in your new residence. A pool? A garage? An extra room? A particular building design? What about the neighborhood? Proximity to schools or work? I will compare your needs, wants and budget with what is available on the market and make recommendations that save you time and effort all within your budget

I will also accompany you as you view houses and help you assess their suitability and price.  I can provide facts on the neighborhoods, the cost of maintaining the home, upgrading costs, insurance hindrances and requirements, facts about inlaw suites and so on.

In other words, I will work with you to achieve your dream.

Access to Properties for Sale

Multiple Listing Service or MLS is an exclusive service accessible only through your REALTOR and it can be a valuable tool. Through MLS, the details of a wide variety of listed properties are made available to me for us to work with. That can save you a tremendous amount of time and effort in your hunt for the right home. I can also have listings sent directly to you on a daily basis so as to have the opportunity to view the properties before the competition.

Knowledge of Financing Options

I have extensive knowledge of the financing choices available to you and can help you negotiate the best mortgage terms and rates.

Knowledge of Home Mechanics and Construction

I have hands on renovation experience having taken on many projects both large and small.  I have also taken courses offered by Carson Dunlop Inspections and can offer advice on many aspects of the condition of the properties you will visit.

A Skilled Negotiator

I have 22 years of  experience in obtaining the best purchase terms for my clients. I will assist in negotiating an offer, act as a mediator to head off potential conflicts between you and the seller and draw up a legally binding agreement.

I am a member of the Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA) and only members of OREA can call themselves REALTOR.S
